Sync

Getting data to other people: a folder both devices see, a file through a messenger, or two devices in the same room. You always decide what is sent, and no server is involved.

Sync

Three ways#

The shared folder for devices that never meet. The bundle as a file through any messenger or mail. In person over Wi-Fi with a code scanned off the other screen. A received .catsync file is opened here too.

Keys and trust#

Every catalog signs what it writes with its own key; partners see the key code next to your name. A partner's first key is taken on trust from a file and counts as met once you sync in person. Entries in a known name without the right signature are refused and listed on the arrival page.

What arrives#

After a sync the arrival page lists what came: one row per cat or home naming what changed, the ticks of one chore as one row, and the values two people changed at once as conflicts to decide. A note at the top says only that the sync finished; its tap opens the page.
