Keyboard and gestures
Two rules carry the phone: a tap is the primary action, a hold the secondary one. The desk answers to keys and the right-click.
On the phone#
| Gesture | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tap | Opens the thing; on a box, ticks it. A tap never opens a menu. |
| Hold | The menu, or the editor when there is only one thing to do. Everything with a hold wears the cat ear in its corner. |
| Swipe left on a note | The next note. |
| Swipe right on a note | Clears the news; failures stay. |
| Hold on the map | Records a sighting or a flier for a chosen cat. |
| Hold on a pin or a trail dot | Its menu: history, correction, removal, flier taken down. |
| Pinch and drag on the poster | Frames a photo. |
Nothing slides in from the bottom; every menu opens where the finger is. A single choice of many is a list of radio buttons, never a row of pills.
On the desk#
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ctrl 1 to Ctrl 7 | Home, Cats, Clowders, Map, Agenda, Vet, Family. |
| Arrows, Enter | Walk a table, open the marked row as a card. |
| Ctrl click, Shift click | Mark several rows. |
| Escape | Closes the modal on top. |
| Right-click | The same menu as the ⋮ beside a row, a card, a pin or a photo. |
| Shift drag on the map | A box to zoom into. |
| Drag a card's title bar, its bottom edge | Moves it, resizes it. |
